Hill Hotel

The Hill Hotel is a twelve-story building on South 16th Street designed in Colonial Revival style with early commercial design elements integrated throughout. Today it houses residential apartments while preserving its original architectural character.

The building was completed in 1919 by architects John and Alan McDonald and marked an important example of construction during that era. Its registration as a National Historic Place in 1988 recognized its value as part of the city's architectural heritage.

The hotel reflects how Omaha's downtown developed in the early 20th century through such substantial buildings. The mix of residential and ground-floor commercial space shows how urban neighborhoods functioned during this period.
