Peony Park

Peony Park was an amusement park spanning 35 acres with a large swimming pool, water slides, and various carnival rides. The facility also featured a ballroom, dance floors, and extensive picnic grounds for visitors.

The site began in 1919 as a peony garden and gradually transformed into a music venue. It later developed into a full amusement park and continued operating until 1994.

The Royal Terrace Ballroom served as a major gathering place where musicians like Louis Armstrong and Duke Ellington performed for local audiences. These performances helped establish the park as an important hub for live music in the region.

The park was located at North 78th and Cass Streets in Omaha and was easily accessible. Visitors could find both relaxation areas and entertainment options in one location.

The Royal Grove was an outdoor stage that held around 3000 people and broadcast live performances on local radio. This made the park a regional hub for musical entertainment that extended its reach far beyond the immediate area.
