Lake Nockamixon, Recreational lake in Bucks County, Pennsylvania.

Lake Nockamixon is a reservoir in Bucks County formed by a dam on Tohickon Creek, covering approximately 1,450 acres of water. It is the largest lake in southeastern Pennsylvania and serves as a major water storage and recreation center.

The project was proposed in 1958 and the dam was built by the Pennsylvania Department of Forests and Waters. The state park officially opened in December 1973.

The name Nockamixon comes from the Lenape language, meaning "place of soft soil," which reflects the Native American heritage of the region.

The lake has four public boat launches and a marina offering rentals for vessels up to 20 horsepower. Fishing is available year-round, and the lake is best enjoyed during mild weather and stable water conditions.

The dam releases water twice yearly, typically on weekends in March and November, inviting whitewater paddling on Tohickon Creek. These seasonal releases create temporary conditions that draw paddlers from the region.
