Stover-Myers Mill

Stover-Myers Mill is a water-powered grain mill situated along Tohickon Creek, featuring original milling stones and mechanical equipment housed in a stone building. The site demonstrates how the flowing water turned the machinery that ground grain for local communities.

Jacob Stover built the mill in 1800, and it processed grain for the surrounding communities for more than a century. The facility became an important supply point for flour and meal throughout the region.

The mill represents early American industrial development, demonstrating the evolution from water power to steam engines in grain processing methods.

The mill site sits within a 26-acre park with picnic areas and walking trails that follow the creek bank. Wear sturdy footwear since the paths cross uneven ground and may be muddy after rain.

The building housed both grain milling and lumber processing under one roof, with a vertical saw that cut wood alongside the grinding stones. This dual purpose was common in mills that served multiple trade needs for rural communities.
