Zane Shawnee Caverns

Zane Shawnee Caverns is a cave system in Ohio featuring underground streams, mineral deposits, and natural formations including cave pearls created by mineral-rich water. The network extends across several hundred meters with different chambers showcasing varied geological characteristics.

The caverns were discovered in 1892 when a man fell into a sinkhole during a rescue mission for a person and dog in distress. The United Remnant Band of the Shawnee Nation acquired the site in 1995 and established it as part of their cultural heritage.
