New York Theatre Workshop

The New York Theatre Workshop is a theatre company and nonprofit organization in the East Village section of Manhattan. The auditorium on East 4th Street features a mid-sized stage with seating rows arranged close to the action.

The organization began in the late seventies as a platform for contemporary stage work. In the nineties it developed a musical production that later gained worldwide recognition.
