Greene St. Recording was a recording studio located at 112 Greene Street in Manhattan's SoHo neighborhood, designed as a professional music production facility. The space contained multiple rooms outfitted with advanced audio equipment and mixing consoles for capturing and refining recordings.
The studio started in the early 1970s as a private recording space and gradually became a commercial enterprise under different ownership. Operations ceased in 2001 after serving the music industry for roughly 30 years.
The space drew major hip-hop artists during the 1980s and 1990s, including Run-DMC, Public Enemy, and LL Cool J, who shaped the sound of a generation. It became known as a place where artists pushed the boundaries of music production and collaborated on groundbreaking work.
