Hubbard Park, Public park in Shorewood, Wisconsin, United States.
Hubbard Park is a riverside park along the eastern bank of the Milwaukee River featuring 5 acres of tiered woodland with walking trails. The grounds are accessed through a pedestrian passage beneath the Oak Leaf Recreation Trail and slope down toward the river.
The area served originally as hunting grounds before being developed as a mineral spring park in the late 1800s. William J. Hubbard created the park in its present form during the 1920s.
The lodge restaurant continues local dining traditions with Friday fish fries paired with live polka performances. Visitors gather in this space to experience customs that remain part of the community's regular rhythm.
Access the park through a pedestrian tunnel beneath the Oak Leaf Recreation Trail, which is open from 5 AM to 10 PM each day. The sloped terrain and pathways accommodate most visitors, though some areas may feel steep during seasonal weather changes.
The lodge building dates to 1936 and was constructed through a New Deal work program with a soaring interior ceiling, massive stone fireplace, and river-facing deck. These features make it a distinctive venue for gatherings and celebrations that draws regular use from the surrounding community.
