Our Lady of Carmel Cathedral, Formosa

Our Lady of Carmel Cathedral stands at the intersection of Avenida 25 de Mayo and Moreno, featuring pointed arches and ornate decorative elements throughout its structure.

The construction of this religious edifice began in 1896 on land owned by Manuel Martini, with Father Gabriel Grotti performing the initial blessing in 1898.

The cathedral functions as the central religious institution for the Diocese of Formosa, hosting regular services and significant Catholic ceremonies throughout the year.

Visitors can access the cathedral daily through its main entrance, with the building serving both as a place of worship and an architectural reference point.

The 1964 renovation project transformed the front facade and towers, resulting in the current cathedral structure completed in 1966 under Bishop Pacifico Scozzina's supervision.
