Whampoa Garden

Whampoa Garden is a large residential complex in Kowloon City with 88 apartment buildings developed across multiple phases, housing over 10,000 units. Beyond the towers, it includes extensive shopping and leisure facilities integrated directly into the overall layout.

Built between 1985 and 1991 by Hutchison Whampoa Limited, the estate was constructed on the site of a former shipyard. This transformation of industrial land into a modern residential area marked a significant shift for the region.

The complex takes its name from the historic shipyard site and functions as a self-contained community where residents and visitors shop, dine, and spend time together daily. The twelve shopping centers known as Whampoa World form the heart of daily life here, shaping how people experience the neighborhood.
