Urban Council Centenary Garden, Public park in Tsim Sha Tsui East, Hong Kong.
The Urban Council Centenary Garden is a public park in Tsim Sha Tsui East with two sections connected by a pedestrian corridor between Hilton Towers and Peninsula Centre. The eastern area offers open green space for activities while the western section features historical architectural elements.
The site opened in December 1983 to mark the hundred-year anniversary of the Urban Council. Six colonnade pillars from the former Kowloon station were preserved and relocated here as a record of the district's architectural heritage.
The eastern section serves as a gathering place for neighborhood celebrations and local events where people regularly come to relax and socialize. The six pillars from the former Kowloon station tell the story of the district's past and draw visitors' attention to its heritage.
The park can be reached from Chatham Road South and Mody Road, with several public transport stops nearby providing easy access. Both sections are straightforward to navigate with shaded pathways and seating areas for rest.
A large fountain at the northern end creates a refreshing focal point that draws visitors with its gentle water feature. This element makes the park a popular photo spot and peaceful retreat amid the busy surrounding area.
