Jockey Club Innovation Tower, Contemporary educational tower in Hung Hom, Hong Kong.
The Jockey Club Innovation Tower is an educational building in Hung Hom with 15 floors rising 76 meters into the air. It houses classrooms, workshops, exhibition spaces, and a lecture hall that serve the School of Design at Hong Kong Polytechnic University.
Construction of this building took place between 2010 and 2013 with financial support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. This backing allowed the university to create a new facility dedicated to design education.
The School of Design occupies this tower with studios and labs where students tackle real-world projects every day. You'll see work in progress displayed throughout, making the creative process visible to anyone walking through.
The building is located on campus in Yau Tsim Mong with accessible entry points from different directions. Inside, expect multiple levels and stairs, so follow signage to find specific studios, workshops, or exhibition areas you want to visit.
The building was designed by architect Zaha Hadid with flowing, organic forms that break away from rectangular towers. These curved surfaces help create a natural flow between different learning spaces.
