Shisunshan Grottoes

Shisunshan Grottoes are a series of caves carved into a mountainside with Buddhist stone sculptures and relief carvings throughout the chambers. The site contains multiple carved figures and religious scenes that form part of the natural rock formation.

The grottoes originated during the Later Qin dynasty when Buddhism expanded into the Sichuan region. This period established artistic and religious practices that became characteristic of such sacred sites.
