Bifeng Gorge Scenic Area

Bifeng Gorge is a nature reserve featuring two valleys framed by steep canyon walls and covered in dense forest. The area encompasses a research center and wildlife facility where various animal species are cared for and studied.

The reserve was established in the late 1990s to protect and study endangered animal species. It grew into a facility that combines research work with public access, advancing conservation efforts across the country.

The place serves as a sanctuary where visitors can observe endangered animals in settings that reflect their natural habitats. People come to witness giant pandas and other rare species in an environment designed to honor their needs rather than display them behind barriers.

Plan to spend several hours exploring the different areas, especially if you want to visit both the research center and wildlife zones. Bring comfortable walking shoes and plenty of water, as the terrain involves considerable walking over varying ground.

The facility allows visitors to observe tigers and primates in large, mostly open spaces rather than caged environments. This approach differs significantly from traditional zoos and offers a much more natural way to experience wildlife.
