Atlantic Hotel Sail City, Modern hotel tower in Mitte, Germany
The Atlantic Hotel Sail City is a modern high-rise complex in Bremerhaven with 23 floors rising 147 meters. The white facade displays clean geometric forms typical of Neues Bauen architecture, combining hotel rooms in the lower levels with conference spaces able to host up to 1000 participants.
The building opened in March 2008 and marked a turning point for Bremerhaven's waterfront district. Its development was part of a broader effort to revitalize the harbor city through modern infrastructure and cultural facilities.
The building takes its name from its sail-like shape, referencing Bremerhaven's maritime heritage. This design connects the structure to the city's identity as a working port community.
The restaurant and public areas are easily accessible from the harbor waterfront. The observation platforms in the upper levels require access through the building but offer views across the river and surrounding areas.
The building houses two observation platforms at different heights that allow visitors to view the Weser River and the North Sea. These vantage points reveal both the natural landscape and the city's harbor infrastructure.
