Gräberfeld von Weingarten

The burial ground of Weingarten is an early medieval cemetery with approximately 800 graves arranged in rows across a large area. Excavations during the 1950s uncovered thousands of objects that document the daily life of this period.

The burial ground was in use between the 5th and 8th centuries, showing the development of a growing settlement over three centuries. The careful layering of graves allows this long period of occupation to be traced with great precision.
