The Kaufhaus Brenninkmeyer building features distinct architectural elements with large windows and decorative stonework across its prominently positioned facade at Oranienplatz 17.
Constructed in 1913 by architectural firm Cremer & Wolffenstein, this building served as a major retail location for C&A department stores until 1956.
The structure represents early 20th-century German commercial architecture and housed numerous significant tenants including AEG and the Central Association of Employees.
Located near multiple public transportation options in Kreuzberg district, the building now functions as Hotel Orania following its 2017 transformation.
Between 2008 and 2017, the vacant building provided space for art exhibitions, including installations from the Berlin Biennale and Weissensee Academy of Art.
