Trevinca

Trevinca rises to 2127 meters above sea level, marking the highest elevation point between the provinces of Zamora and Ourense in northwest Spain.

The mountain name originates from either Trifinca, referring to three demarcations, or from the convergence of three rivers: Xares, Tera, and Cabrera.

Local communities from both Galicia and Castile and León maintain traditional celebrations and customs connected to the mountain throughout the seasons.

Multiple hiking trails lead to the summit from different starting points, including Laguna de los Peces in the south and Fonte Da Cova in the north.

The mountain summit contains a designated bird protection area spanning 22,510 hectares, supporting numerous species across its varied elevation zones.
