Vizcodillo

Vizcodillo is a 2121-meter summit in the Sierra de la Cabrera, part of the Galician-Leonese Massif mountain range. The peak rises above surrounding ridges and provides wide views across the landscape below.

The mountain has marked the natural boundary between Zamora and Leon provinces for centuries. This location shaped historical trade routes and regional settlement patterns.

Local mountaineering groups maintain traditional annual ascents to Vizcodillo, strengthening community bonds through shared outdoor experiences in the Sanabria region.

Hikers can reach the summit from two starting points: Doney de la Requejada or Truchillas, which has parking available. The routes suit experienced mountain walkers and vary in difficulty depending on which path you choose.

One climbing route features four distinctive hairpin turns across several kilometers. The steep sections along this path create an interesting technical challenge for cyclists and fit hikers alike.
