Ermita de Santa María de Iguacel, Romanesque hermitage church in Larrosa, Spain
Santa María de Iguácel features a rectangular nave with a semicircular apse, wooden ceiling, and a quadrangular tower on its northern side.
Count Galindo initiated the construction around 1040, while his son Count Sancho Galíndez completed the renovation works in 1072 according to Jaca Cathedral style.
The apse contains Gothic murals from the 15th century divided into three horizontal registers depicting apostles, Virgin Mary scenes, and a Calvary.
Visitors can reach the church by taking the Canfranc road and turning at Castiello de Jaca to follow the valley path.
The church holds significance as one of the first buildings in Aragon to incorporate a semicircular apse, a feature that later spread throughout Jacetania.
