Nethermost Pike, Mountain peak in Lake District, England
Nethermost Pike reaches a height of 891 meters, forming part of the Helvellyn range with steep eastern cliffs and grassy western slopes.
The eastern slopes of Nethermost Pike contain evidence of lead mining operations that date back to the sixteenth century industrial activities.
The mountain earned its place in Alfred Wainwright's Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells as the second-highest peak of the Eastern Fells.
Hikers can access Nethermost Pike through multiple routes starting from Glenridding or Patterdale villages, located 8 kilometers from the summit.
The eastern cliffs contain mineral-rich soil that supports rare arctic-alpine plant communities, leading to its designation as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
