Hart Crag, Mountain summit in Lake District, England
Hart Crag rises to 822 meters in elevation, featuring two distinct stone cairns at its peak within the Eastern Fells of the Lake District.
The mountain received its classification as a Wainwright summit after Alfred Wainwright included it in his comprehensive guide to the Lake District fells.
Local hiking groups regularly organize guided walks along the Deepdale Horseshoe route, introducing newcomers to traditional fell walking techniques.
Visitors can access Hart Crag through established paths from Patterdale or incorporate it into the circular Fairfield Horseshoe walk from Ambleside.
The summit serves as a geographical meeting point of three major ridges, creating natural walking routes that extend toward Fairfield, Dove Crag, and Hartsop.
