Brothers Water, Lake and Site of Special Scientific Interest in Lake District, Great Britain.
Brothers Water sits at an elevation of 157 meters in the Hartsop valley, surrounded by hills and walking paths of the eastern Lake District.
The name Brothers Water replaced the original Broad Water designation in the nineteenth century following the tragic drowning of two brothers in the lake.
Dorothy Wordsworth documented her observations of Brothers Water's landscape features and surrounding paths during her visit in April 1802.
The lake features designated parking areas, access routes, and paths along its western shore connecting Patterdale in the north to Kirkstone Pass.
The lake maintains populations of trout and contains a specific fish species called schelly, adding to its designation as a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
