Y Cnicht

Y Cnicht is a mountain in Gwynedd that rises to approximately 690 meters and displays a sharp triangular outline that makes it recognizable from many directions within the Moelwynion range. The peak consists of three rocky outcrops, with the middle formation marking the actual summit point.

The name derives from a Welsh word meaning knife, which refers to the mountain's sharp profile. For centuries, local shepherds used it as a landmark while navigating the Snowdonia landscape.

The mountain holds a place in Welsh tradition, where locals and visitors recognize it by its distinctive triangular shape that stands out from surrounding peaks. This recognizable profile has made it a reference point in the landscape for generations.
