Bracklinn Falls

Bracklinn Falls is a waterfall system near Callander where water cascades down in several stages over red sandstone rocks. The falls sit deep within a wooded gorge that creates a secluded setting away from open spaces.

A bridge once crossed the falls but was destroyed by flooding in 2004, after which a replacement wooden crossing was built. This newer structure now allows visitors to reach viewing points they could not access before.

The falls mark a significant point along the Highland Boundary Fault, representing the natural division between Scottish Highlands and Lowlands.

The walking route can be shortened or made longer depending on your energy level and available time. The paths are steep and often wet, so sturdy footwear is essential to stay safe on the ground.

Red squirrels live in the woodland here and are less common than grey squirrels in other parts of Britain. Deer also roam these forests regularly, particularly visible during quieter hours of the day.
