Orion Building, High-rise building at Navigation Street, Birmingham, England
The Orion Building is a modern high-rise structure in Birmingham's city center with 28 floors and a distinctive glass-topped crown. Its exterior features illuminated LED strips that create a glowing effect after dark.
The building was constructed between 2004 and 2007 following demolition of the previous site while incorporating elements from the Victorian-era structures that once stood there. Its completion marked a turning point in Birmingham's modern urban development.
Fashion designer John Rocha created the interior designs for all 200 apartments, setting new standards for residential living in Birmingham's city center.
A Sainsbury's Local supermarket operates on the ground floor, and New Street Station is a short walk away providing easy access to public transport. The central location makes it convenient for exploring the wider city.
The structure houses Birmingham's first penthouse apartment, which sold for 1.65 million pounds before construction completion.
