Singers Hill Synagogue, Grade II* listed synagogue in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Singers Hill Synagogue is a religious building in Birmingham city center designed in Romanesque Revival style. The structure follows a basilica layout with a central Bimah platform and features a distinctive wheel window in Norman design.
This building was constructed in 1856 and designed by architect Yeoville Thomason. It replaced the congregation's earlier worship space that had been located elsewhere in the city.
The place serves the community as a center for practicing Jewish faith in the Ashkenazi tradition. Visitors can observe how members of different generations gather to maintain their religious customs and community bonds.
The synagogue is located on Blucher Street in the city center and can be easily reached by public transport. Regular services take place, so it is best to check ahead on timing and any visitor guidelines.
The interior features stained glass windows created by Hardman Studios and selected between 1956 and 1963 by a synagogue council member. These windows remain a striking artistic element within the worship space.
