Templemore, Clonmore and Killea

The Church of the Sacred Heart in Templemore is a Gothic Revival building with pointed arches, ribbed vaults, and flying buttresses that rise through multiple levels. George Ashlin designed this building in the 19th century when Gothic Revival architecture represented a return to medieval construction methods. This period saw such designs become widespread across Ireland as a way to express religious identity.

The stained glass windows inside depict religious scenes and tell stories through color and light. These artworks, along with the stone carvings throughout, show how the local Catholic community expressed their faith through art.

The building is open to visitors during regular hours and hosts religious services throughout the year. Parking areas are located near the main entrance for easy access.
