Utsubo Park, Urban park with tennis center and rose garden in Osaka, Japan
Utsubo Park is a green space of nearly 10 hectares in Osaka, divided by Naniwa-suji Road into eastern and western sections. The eastern area holds a rose collection and cherry trees, while the western section contains a tennis center with multiple courts.
The land was formerly a United States Army airfield taken over after 1945 and converted into a public park in 1955. The rectangular shape of the original runway remains visible in the park's current layout.
The rose collection in the eastern section displays many varieties that offer colors and scents throughout the year. In spring, people gather along the cherry-lined paths to celebrate the season's arrival with walks and quiet moments.
The area is freely accessible around the clock and sits near Hommachi Station on the Yotsubashi Subway Line. Visitors can walk from the station or use various entrances to easily reach both sections of the park.
The tennis center in the western section hosts international competitions, including the World Super Junior Tennis Championships, drawing players from around the world. The park blends everyday recreation with high-level sporting events in one location.
