Core Yamakuni

Core Yamakuni is a municipal library in Nakatsu with modern reading spaces, study areas, and contemporary architectural design. The facility offers computer terminals, event halls, and collections covering local history alongside current publications.

The library opened in 1982 when multiple local schools closed, bringing together resources in one location. This consolidation created a central hub for the Yamakuni district's educational needs.

The library preserves documents about local folklore, including manuscripts of the Yamaguni Yetii tales passed through generations in the region.

The location is accessible during regular hours Monday through Saturday, with special programs available on weekends. Visitors should expect adjusted operating schedules during winter months when seasonal activities take place.

The facility converts a portion of its space for seasonal activities such as ice skating during the coldest months. This allows visitors to encounter different functions on each visit depending on the time of year.
