中在家信號場, Railway staff halt in Kame, Japan
Nakazaike signal station was a railway operating point in Kame with two arrival tracks positioned on a steep grade between Kame and Tsuge stations. The facility served the technical operation of trains on this challenging section of track.
The signal station opened on April 1, 1928, and operated continuously until November 2019. It was closed after signal control shifted to a centralized dispatch system.
The signal station represents a part of Japanese railway development, demonstrating the nation's systematic approach to rail network management and safety protocols.
This is now a closed railway facility not regularly open to visitors. Those interested in visiting should contact the railway operator in advance to request access permission.
The facility used a switchback system where trains had to reverse direction on the main line to reach the arrival tracks. This unusual method was necessary due to the station's extremely steep location.
