Hyōgo Children's Center

Hyogo Children's Center is a facility in Himeji designed with three main sections: a central building, a workshop area, and an outdoor plaza. These spaces are connected by concrete pathways that guide visitors through different activity zones.

The center opened in 1989 as part of an initiative to build modern educational spaces for children across the Hyogo region. It was created to give families a dedicated place for learning and play.

The building design follows Japanese architectural principles by integrating indoor and outdoor spaces through carefully positioned windows and elevated walkways.

The center is usually open from 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM and admission is free for all visitors. However, some days are closed to the public, so it is wise to check ahead before planning a visit.

A distinctive feature is the row of six-meter-tall columns that lines the pathway leading to the play area. These columns create a visual rhythm that children naturally interact with as they move through the space.
