大慶寺, Buddhist temple in Kamakura, Japan.

The Daikei-ji Temple contains a monumental bronze statue of Amida Buddha that measures 11.4 meters in height and 93 tons in weight.

The construction of this Buddhist temple began in 1252 under Minamoto Yoritomo's direction and underwent three reconstructions until reaching completion in 1452.

The temple displays traditional giant straw sandals near the Buddha statue, representing a Japanese custom of offering prayers for safe travels.

Visitors can reach the temple via the Enoshima Electric Railway from Kamakura Station to Hase Station, followed by a seven-minute walk.

The interior of the bronze Buddha statue remains accessible to visitors, allowing them to observe the internal construction methods of this medieval creation.
