大善寺, Buddhist temple in Hachioji, Japan

Located in the Otani district of Hachioji, Daizenji Temple features a main hall built in 1981 and maintains the Fujimidai Cemetery within its grounds.

Founded during the Tensho period between 1573 and 1591 by Hojo Ujiteru, the temple initially stood at Takiyama Castle before relocating to its current location.

The cemetery within the temple grounds contains graves of notable Japanese figures, including novelist Matsumoto Seichō and manga artist Akatsuka Fujio.

The temple offers parking facilities for 80 regular vehicles and one bus, with access available from Keio Hachioji Station through a 20-minute walking route.

After operating independently for several decades following World War II, Daizenji Temple returned to the Jodo Buddhist sect in 2018.
