Saika Tomita lived in this residence from May 1939 until October 1984, turning the property into a museum dedicated to his memory in January 1987.

Japanese writers Jun'ichirō Tanizaki and Matsuko Tanizaki occupied this house between 1934 and 1936, contributing to its literary significance.
