Hakutaka Rokusuien

Hakutaka Rokusuien is a sake museum and store in Nishinomiya featuring exhibition rooms with traditional brewing tools and a reconstructed Japanese-style house from the 1800s. The facility also includes a tasting area where you can sample different varieties with knowledgeable guidance.

The museum preserves original furniture and brewing equipment from the late Edo through early Showa periods, documenting over 160 years of sake production. This collection traces how brewing techniques evolved across multiple generations.

The space shows how sake brewery families lived through authentic dining tables, dressing areas, and daily objects from different time periods you can see firsthand. These rooms tell the story of their everyday world and how they worked and lived.

The location is about seven minutes on foot from Hanshin Railway Nishinomiya Station, making it easily accessible from the city center. You should allow enough time to explore both the exhibitions and the reconstructed house at a comfortable pace.

The collection includes brewing tools that survived World War II in their original condition despite being over 100 years old. These objects are witnesses to a difficult period and quietly tell stories about the past.
