Tanizaki Jun'ichirō Memorial Museum of Literature, Ashiya

The museum exhibits manuscripts, personal belongings, and photographs documenting the life and works of Japanese author Tanizaki Jun'ichirō inside a traditional building.

The institution opened its doors in October 1988 to preserve and present the legacy of Tanizaki Jun'ichirō, who wrote during the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa periods.

The reading room contains an extensive collection of literary works, enabling visitors and scholars to study the author's writing style and themes.

Located one minute from Midoricho bus stop, the museum welcomes visitors daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with admission fees of ¥300 for adults.

Exhibits include photographs of Tanizaki's wife Matsuko, who influenced characters in his literary works, particularly in the novel Sasameyuki.
