Shōraku-ji

Shōraku-ji is a Buddhist temple in Bizen featuring traditional Japanese architecture with prayer halls and meditation spaces. The site sits in a quiet setting and serves as one of the 33 Kannon sacred destinations throughout the Chūgoku region.

The temple was founded around 800 during Japan's Heian period and became an important site of Buddhist practice in the Chūgoku region. Its long history connects it to the development of the pilgrimage system that drew believers over centuries.
