相鉄本多劇場, Private theater in Yokohama, Japan.
The Sotetsu Honda Theater occupied the third floor of the Sotetsu Movil building as a small performance venue with seating for around 180 people. The space was divided into floor and fixed seating sections to provide flexible viewing in an intimate setting.
The theater opened in December 1988 as a dedicated space for small-scale productions and performances. It remained a hub for local theater over 25 years before presenting its final show in November 2014.
The space served as a gathering place where performers and audiences met monthly to discuss theater and artistic work together. These meetings created a community of people interested in the performing arts and local creative expression.
The venue was located five minutes walk from Yokohama Station South Exit, making it easy for both performers and audiences to visit. This central location meant that people could reach it without much difficulty or travel time.
The opening performance featured the Haiyuza theater company presenting a comedy about a married couple named Betty and Boo. This beginning set the tone for years of diverse and experimental work at the space.
