Nissan Global Headquarters

The Nissan Global Headquarters is a 22-story office tower with a glass and steel construction in Yokohama. Its curved exterior design resembles a sailing ship, making it a distinctive landmark in the Minatomirai waterfront area.

The building was completed in 2009 and marks the company's return to Yokohama, where it first established operations in 1933. This relocation symbolizes both continuity with the past and a fresh chapter for the automaker in its historic home city.

The building houses the Nissan Global Gallery on the first floor, with exhibitions about automobile manufacturing and Japanese industrial development. Visitors can explore displays that show the visual story of automotive innovation and the company's role in modern industry.

The complex connects to Yokohama Station through the Hammirai Walk and provides access to the Minatomirai district via a public walkway. The first-floor gallery is easiest to visit during weekdays, and comfortable shoes are helpful for exploring the surrounding waterfront area.

The building features a 40-kilowatt solar panel system that powers electric vehicle charging stations throughout the complex. This energy solution reflects the company's commitment to integrating renewable power into its daily operations.
