Todoro Falls

Todoro Falls is a waterfall in Kōchi Prefecture featuring three distinct cascades that plunge 82 meters down the mountainside. Each section creates deep circular pools where water gathers before continuing its descent.

The waterfall connects to the Heike clan, who took refuge in this region during the 12th century following their defeat in the Genpei War. The area's past remains intertwined with these events from centuries ago.

A small shrine stands near the waterfall basin, reflecting the spiritual importance this place holds for the local community. The site carries meaning through stories that have been told about the waters for generations.

The parking area accommodates about 40 vehicles and connects to a short forest path leading to the waterfall viewpoint. The walk is easy to manage and takes just a few minutes, making the site accessible for visitors with varying abilities.

The top basin has been naturally shaped into a circular form by water erosion over many centuries. This rounded bowl is clearly visible and shows the powerful effect of flowing water across vast stretches of time.
