Description
Kirishima Onsen is a hot spring resort with multiple bathing facilities located on the lower slopes of the Kirishima Mountains. The area offers views of Kagoshima Bay and the Sakurajima volcano.
History
The location became known when samurai Sakamoto Ryoma came here with his wife in 1866 for recovery. This event is often regarded as one of Japan's first honeymoons.
