Kirishima Onsen

The hot spring resort contains multiple bathing facilities spread across the lower slopes, offering views of Kagoshima Bay and the Sakurajima volcano.

In 1866, samurai Sakamoto Ryoma and his wife selected this location for their recovery period, marking what many consider Japan's first recorded honeymoon.
