Kirishima International Concert Hall

The Kirishima International Concert Hall features an 800-seat main auditorium with leaf-shaped configuration for optimal sound distribution throughout the performance space.

The concert hall, designed by architect Fumihiko Maki who received the Pritzker Prize in 1993, officially opened its doors on July 22, 1994.

The concert venue hosts the annual Kirishima International Music Festival, bringing together performers and audiences for classical music performances and cultural exchanges.

Located at coordinates 31.88N and 130.805556E, the concert hall maintains regular schedules of musical events organized by the Kagoshima Prefectural Cultural Promotion Foundation.

The concert hall incorporates the Japanese spatial concept of 'oku' through its foyer design, which frames views of the Kirishima mountain range.
