Konosekyo, Natural canyon in Naka, Japan

Limestone cliffs rise along both sides of the Naka River, forming a deep V-shaped valley with exposed rock formations and dense forest coverage.

The canyon earned its recognition as one of Japan's top 100 autumn foliage spots through a national selection process in the late 20th century.

Local residents maintain traditional farming practices in the surrounding mountains, producing vegetables and fruits adapted to the steep terrain.

The canyon viewing area provides parking for 50 vehicles and remains open year-round without entrance fees or time restrictions.

The temperature differences between day and night in this region create exceptionally intense red and gold autumn colors from late October to mid-November.
