Shinjuku Cinema Qualite, Arthouse cinema in Shinjuku, Japan.
Shinjuku Cinema Qualite is an arthouse cinema housed in a compact building in Shinjuku, featuring two small screening rooms. The larger room holds 97 seats and the smaller one accommodates 79 seats, both equipped with digital and 35mm film projection.
The cinema reopened in 2012 under its current name, transforming from its previous identity as Shinjuku Musashinokan theater. This reopening marked a new chapter for the venue under fresh management and renewed programming.
This cinema serves as a venue for independent and artistic films that rarely appear in large commercial multiplexes. Visitors come here to discover works outside the mainstream and experience different creative perspectives.
The cinema is located in the basement level of the Nowa Building, making it easy to find within Shinjuku's shopping district. Snacks and drinks are available through vending machines rather than a traditional concession counter, allowing visitors to grab refreshments quickly.
Both screening rooms feature specialized Dolby DR-S sound systems designed to optimize acoustics for small spaces. This professional audio technology ensures high-quality sound reproduction despite the compact size of each room.
