密蔵院, Buddhist temple in Ota, Japan
Mitsuzo-in is a Buddhist temple in the southern part of the Den-en-chofu district with a main hall that houses a Vairocana Buddha statue. The grounds contain several Koshin stone monuments and serve as a religious center for ceremonies and worship.
The temple was founded between 1504 and 1521 and served as a family temple for the influential Mori clan of the region. It has remained an important religious site in the local community throughout the centuries.
The temple houses seven Kannon Bodhisattva statues, including one called the Raiyoke Kannon that people believe protects against lightning. Visitors can see how these figures have remained central to local spiritual practice for generations.
The temple is located at 24-18 Den-enchofu Minami and is directly accessible from Numabe Station. Visitors can explore the religious services and offerings throughout the year and take time to view the statues and monuments on the grounds.
The temple marks station 56 along the Tamagawa 88 Temple Pilgrimage route, making it a special stop on this traditional path. This position shows its long-standing importance within the region's religious networks.
