Tamagawadai Park, Public park and museum complex in Ota, Japan.

Tamagawadai Park is a public park and museum complex featuring around 3,000 hydrangea shrubs in seven varieties, wooden pathways, and multiple garden sections built across different levels. The layout includes viewing platforms and sits directly next to Tamagawa Station.

The site held importance in ancient times, evidenced by two burial mounds from the 4th century preserved within the grounds. These structures date to an era when regional leaders held power in this area.

The seasonal plantings showcase traditional Japanese gardening styles, where water features and flowering plants reflect principles of natural harmony found throughout the region.

The grounds have steep slopes with numerous stairs and pathways, so wearing comfortable shoes and allowing plenty of time to explore is important. The site is easiest to visit on weekends when more staff is present and the surrounding areas feel more active.

An observation deck overlooks the Tama River, while the tiered hydrangea garden creates layered color patterns best viewed from elevated positions. Most visitors discover these vantage points only after exploring the lower sections first.
