Niigata Manga Animation Museum, Comics museum in Yachiyo, Japan
The Niigata Manga Animation Museum holds exhibitions of manga comics, animated works, original manuscripts, and digital displays across multiple gallery spaces.
The museum opened its doors on May 2, 2013, in Billboard Place as an institution dedicated to preserving and showcasing Japanese visual storytelling traditions.
The facility celebrates local manga creators from Niigata Prefecture, including Studio Ghibli's Yoshifumi Kondo and Inuyasha creator Rumiko Takahashi through permanent displays.
The museum charges 200 yen for adults and 100 yen for high school students, operating from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM with extended hours on weekends.
Visitors can experience voice acting in interactive booths and manipulate characters from series like Tensai Bakabon through touchscreen tables.
