The Syouwa-o-hashi extends 306.9 meters across the Shinano River, featuring a 22-meter-wide deck that accommodates both vehicle lanes and pedestrian walkways.

The bridge construction was completed in 1929, representing a major advancement in Niigata's infrastructure during Japan's early modernization period.

In 2004, the bridge received designation as an Important Cultural Property, recognizing its contribution to Japanese engineering and architectural heritage.

Visitors can reach the bridge through a 15-minute walk from Niigata Station or take a direct bus connection to the structure.

The bridge maintained its structural integrity during the 1964 Niigata Earthquake, demonstrating the engineering excellence of its construction methods.
