The original Marutake Building was established in 1964 by Takejiro Tanaka and marked the start of commercial development around Niigata Station. The structure was rebuilt in 2020 with updated features and contemporary construction methods.
The building reflects the evolution of Japanese corporate architecture, combining retail spaces and offices in a format typical of regional business centers.
The building is located about one minute on foot from Niigata Station, making it easy to access. Three elevators provide convenient access throughout the structure and modern safety features protect against seismic activity.
The 2020 reconstruction made this the first privately owned office building in Niigata Prefecture to install an earthquake isolation system. This technology separates the building from ground movements to reduce damage during seismic events.
